Everyone has to go ice fishing at least once in their lives. How often can you pretend you're god and walk on water (aka ice) much less drive on it!? In Minnesota every one of the lakes ( except for Lake Superior) freeze over , which means you can drive your car out onto the lake, cut a hold through the incredibly thick ice and drop a line on down through to catch a fish! If you're really into it you'll probably want to invest in (or find someone with) an ice house- complete with heating!! Rustic ice fishing can be great when the sun is shining bright and the wind isn't howling, although that's rarely the time to catch fish. The best fishing is done at dawn and dusk, when it's cold, cold, cold. Either way, wear warm boots - you'll be walking on frozen water, remember!
